Dr. Haberlander has studied Physics, Astronomy, and Mathematics, at the University of Bonn. In his doctoral thesis he has investigated into magnetic properties of excited states of nuclei of two isotopes of Gadolinium.

From April 1988 to June 2005 Dr. Haberlander has worked in the Intellectual Property division of Siemens Aktiengesellschaft, first in providing IP care for the Power Generation division. From 1996 to 2001 Dr. Haberlander has headed a group whose task was IP care for the Corporate Technology division. In that context he was also involved in the founding of Infineon AG and EPCOS AG by Siemens Aktiengesellschaft. From 2001 to 2005 Dr. Haberlander has headed a group providing IP care for the Automotive Division of Siemens Aktiengesellschaft and in this task has accompanied the merger of that division with a company acquired by Siemens Aktiengesellschaft. From 2005 to 2017 Dr. Haberlander has headed a group providing IP care for the Product Division Laundry Care of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH. Dr. Haberlander also has knowledge in management of IP Rights including development and implementation of related strategy, and of IP-related contractual law.

Dr. Haberlander has qualified as European Patent Attorney in 1992. He is also German Patent Attorney. Dr. Haberlander works with us since 2017.

Dr. Haberlander has provided IP-related care including patent application procedures, oppositions and appeals, in particular before the European Patent Office, in many and various fields of technology, in particular as follows:

Power generation technology:
generators, steam turbines, gas turbines, material technology including superconductors

Manufacturing technology:       
Laser technology, metal forming, injection moulding

Semiconductor technology:     
Special semiconductor materials, particularly silicon carbide, semiconductor components

Medical technology:      
medical facilities and medical devices, targeted therapy facilities

Electric technology and data processing:   
Controls, sensors, electric machines, human-machine interfaces, networks

Automotive technology: 
fuel cell systems, engine controls, indicator systems, airbag systems

Household appliances:  
Washing machines, laundry dryers, heat pumps

Dr. Haberlander speaks and works in German and English and has also skills in French and Spanish.
